KEENE, NH - The chase for the Fay Vincent Sr. cup began in Keene on Friday, as the SwampBats hosted the Upper Valley Nighthawks for game one of the North division semifinal series. Despite Keene winning the regular season series between the squads five games to one, the Nighthawks battled early and hung with the Bats all night long. A pitcher’s duel finally came to a head in the bottom of the ninth, when LF Michael O’Brien landed the first pitch he saw on the red barn in right field to win it for Keene, 2-1.

KEENE, NH - The 2025 NECBL regular season came to an end for the Keene SwampBats on Wednesday at Alumni Field, as they looked to complete the season sweep against the Vermont Mountaineers. As Keene had clinched the top seed in the North division the week prior, the team announced all-star Ripken Reese (Kent State) would play all nine positions in the game, a feat that had not been accomplished in MLB since 2017. Keene took care of business, taking the win by a score of 8-2, with Reese recording three outs in the ninth to break the franchise all-time record for single-season wins.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - The Keene SwampBats (31-12) solidified their standing as the best record in the NECBL this summer and tied the franchise record in single-season wins after a dominant performance on the road against the SteepleCats (19-22). It was the first time the Bats had beaten the SteepleCats at Joe Wolf Field this summer in the 11-4 victory.

MARTHA’S VINEYARD - After a dominant eight wins in a row, the Keene SwampBats hopped on the ferry towards Martha’s Vineyard to face the Sharks for the first time since week one of the NECBL season. After taking down the Sharks in a close game in June, Vineyard got the best of Keene this time, taking the win in a blowout game, with an 11-2 final score.

KEENE, NH - On host family appreciation night at Alumni Field, the Keene SwampBats reached 30 wins for the third time in franchise history, and the first time since 2005, with a win over their division rival, the North Adams SteepleCats. The two teams played call and response all game, with Keene’s responses in the home half of innings being enough to down North Adams by a score of 8-5.

SANFORD, ME – In their first game back in action after the NECBL All-Star game, the Keene SwampBats headed to Goodall Park in Maine to take on the Sanford Mainers for the sixth and final time in the regular season. What started out as a pure pitchers’ duel turned into excitement from both sides in the later stages, as the SwampBats triumphed by a final score of 4-3.

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. – Nine SwampBats competed and made an impact in the 2025 NECBL All-Star game as the Northern Division takes care of the Southern Division 3-1in the summer classic. The Northern Division was also led by the SwampBats’ coaching staff, Shaun McKenna (head coach), Stephen Bangs (pitching coach), and Casey O’Brien (hitting coach).

North Adams, MA – The New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) and the Upper Valley Nighthawks have decided to reschedule the 2025 NECBL All-Star Game due to inclement weather. Originally set for Sunday, July 20th, the event will now take place on Monday, July 21st, while still being held in White River Junction, Vermont, at the Maxfield Sports Complex.

KEENE, N.H. – After their nine-run drubbing of the Mystic Schooners the night before, the Keene SwampBats found a tougher challenge as the Danbury Westerners came to town, a team Keene had not faced since opening night. After a busy first three innings in which Keene found a four run advantage, Danbury clawed back to tie the game at five, but Keene pulled ahead again and would hold on by a thread, taking the win 7-6.

KEENE, N.H. – Late into the season, when momentum matters more than ever, the Keene SwampBats were able to take care of business and keep going in the right direction with a win and a season sweep over the Mystic Schooners (15-20), with a final score of 15-6 on 15 hits for Keene.

MONTPELIER, V.T. – A day after dropping only their second game as the home team in 2025, the Keene SwampBats hit the road for a divisional tilt with the Vermont Mountaineers. In a contest that only saw three combined runs through the first six innings, Keene took advantage of late miscues from Vermont, and improved to 5-0 against the Mountaineers on the summer, winning by a score of 5-2.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The New England League’s motto is “Keep Your Eye on the Dream,” and every summer the dream comes alive at the MLB Draft. The draft concluded on July 14th, and 39 NECBL alumni or current players were chosen. Following the draft, an additional eight players signed professional contracts. A total of 45 players have now been given the chance to fulfill their dream of playing professional baseball through 24 clubs. 16 of 20 rounds included NECBL alumni.

KEENE, N.H. – After picking up their third straight win in dominant fashion at Upper Valley on Saturday, the Keene SwampBats returned to Alumni Field for the first time in five days on Tuesday, hosting the North Adams SteepleCats for the second time this summer. In a game that featured a combined five home runs, the SwampBats were unable to come away with the win, falling to their division rival, 8-5.

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. - After two wins over Sanford and Mystic, the Keene SwampBats hit the road to take on the Upper Valley Nighthawks for the first time since the third week of June. They took care of business, coming away with an all around dominant victory over the Nighthawks, with a final score of 9-2. The Bats didn’t squander many chances early on, as they jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the top of the fifth, and never looked back.

With a league-best 21-10 record, Shaun McKenna of the Keene SwampBats will take the reins of the North Division, while Mike Coombs of the Newport Gulls will make his second straight appearance as a skipper for the All-Star Game, this time for the South Division.

KEENE, NH - The SwampBats experienced two very different ballgames on Thursday as they hosted the Sanford Mainers to resume the teams’ suspended contest from Tuesday, and played a seven-inning contest as part of a modified double header. Trailing by four when game one resumed, Keene fell victim to a Sanford surge in the fifth, dropping the game 13-3. They were able to wipe the slate clean in game two, becoming the first team in the NECBL to 20 wins with a 6-4 triumph over the Mainers (14-15).

KEENE, NH - After a night at Sanford ended in the fourth with a suspended game, the Keene SwampBats returned home to host the Vermont Mountaineers in a contest that would end up as the longest game without delays so far in 2025. Keene took the win 15-10, while Vermont made eight errors in a game that lasted four hours and thirty-one minutes.

SANFORD, Maine - A day after a tough loss at North Adams, the Keene SwampBats headed to Sanford to take on the Mainers for the second time in under a week. As the offenses began to heat up, with a combined eight runs and three homers in the first three and a half innings, rain began to fall, and would not let up, forcing the game to be suspended, with Keene trailing 6-2.

KEENE, N.H. - After two consecutive losses to Sanford and Newport, the Keene SwampBats headed into Saturday night hunting for a bounce back win at Alumni Field, and a bounce back is exactly what they found. A superb all-around effort that saw Keene use only three pitchers in total ended in a 2-0 win over the Bristol Blues, marking Keene’s third shutout victory of 2025.

NEWPORT, RI – The Newport Gulls (18-7) downed the SwampBats (17-8) to claim the best record in the NECBL in early July. Despite nine hits, the SwampBats were unable to hold on as the Gulls took advantage of four Keene errors in an 8-5 final.

KEENE, N.H. - On Independence Eve at Alumni Field, the Keene SwampBats hosted the Sanford Mainers for the second time in five days, and played a close game against their division rival that saw the Bats play in extra innings for the first time this summer. The Mainers put up six runs off of three homers in the tenth, taking the win 9-4.
